Travel insurance is a plan that a traveler may purchase before the planned trip to be financially protected in case of certain problems or unexpected events that may occur when traveling. The insurance premium is determined according to the insurance scope and duration, sum insured, guaranteed sum, territorial coverage, number of persons insured, tariff applicable on the date of conclusion of the contract, as well as the Euro exchange rate. The insurance price per person per day starts from 2.90 EUR.

Depending on the selected insurance option, its scope may be more or less extended. Nevertheless, all insured persons are guaranteed insurance coverage for medical expenses and assistance, consequences of accidents, legal assistance, luggage, and personal liability.

Travel health insurance works like other insurance policies. The traveler takes out the best travel insurance for a desired period of time when they will be staying abroad, choosing the protection against specific risks. In case a covered event occurs, an insured person needs to make a claim to the insurer to get the money reimbursement for their financial losses (according to the General Terms and Conditions).

You can add travel medical insurance to your eVisa online application form or choose the insurance as a separate product. You will need to provide some basic information, including the insurance start and end date, your name, surname, date of birth, email address, and contact phone number. Next, you will need to pay the insurance fee, which depends, i.a., on the period for which you wish to be insured and the insurance scope.

To purchase travel insurance, you will need to know the dates of your planned stay abroad, i.e., the date when the insurance should start and end. Moreover, you will be asked to provide some basic personal and contact information, and finally, you will need to pay the insurance fee using one of the available methods of online payment, e.g., SOFORT, PayPal, or credit/debit card.

A traveler can choose the ‘Travel’ variant to be insured for the indicated insurance period, or the ‘Multitrip’ variant if they plan numerous trips to different countries. Moreover, the insurer offers either individual (for 6 or 12 months with any number of entries, while only 60 first days of each entry are covered) or man-days ( for 12 months with a declared number of man-days and the necessity to declare every trip) insurance packages.

Actually, you can buy your insurance policy any time before the date of your planned trip somewhere. Nevertheless, it’s best to take out the proper coverage as soon as you make your travel booking. Don’t leave it until the last moment!
