General Information on Turkey e-Visa

The Turkey e-Visa is an electronic visa implemented by the Turkish authorities to simplify the visa registration process and encourage more foreigners to visit the country.

The Turkish online visa allows you to visit Turkey for tourism and business purposes. With the single-entry visa, you can enter the country once, while the multiple-entry visa is intended for numerous visits. They are both valid for up to 6 months.

The application for the Turkey online visa involves a few simple steps: filling out the registration form, attaching the necessary documents (your country of origin determines which ones exactly), and covering the processing fee.

The approved Turkish visa will be sent to your e-mail address. It needs to be printed out for your journey. Each traveler must have a separate application and a valid passport, as customs officials will check it at the entry point.

Do I Need an e-Visa to Turkey?

Every foreign citizen who wishes to visit Turkey should apply for a relevant visa. The Turkish online visa allows all eligible visitors to travel for purposes including tourism and business.

Once you have obtained the Turkey e-Visa, you can meet with your friends and family, enjoy sightseeing, negotiate contracts, and participate in business conferences. Keep in mind you are forbidden from performing paid work in Turkey while traveling on an online visa.

Types of Turkish Electronic Visas

There are two types of available online visas, depending on the number of granted entries.

• Turkish single-entry visa – allows you to enter Turkey once for a 30-day stay (90 days for the citizens of Maldives) within its 180-day validity period
• Turkish multiple-entry visa – guarantees numerous visits to the country for 90-day stays (30 days for Armenia and South African citizens) within its 180-day validity period

Your citizenship determines which visa type you are eligible for.

Note that an e-Visa for Turkey is issued for tourism and business purposes. If you need to enter Turkey for transit and do not intend to leave the transit zone of the airport, you are not obliged to apply for a visa. Otherwise, a visa is required.

Application Process for e-Visa to Turkey

You can easily submit the Turkey e-Visa application within several minutes using the selected electronic device. Follow the instruction below.

• Complete the online application form on the website. Provide your personal, passport, and travel details. Make sure the completed form does not contain any errors.
• Attach all the required documents. Your country of origin determines which visa type you are eligible for and what documentation you should prepare.
• Cover the visa processing fee. Use one of the available online payment methods, such as debit card, credit card, or PayPal, to finalize the payment.

As soon as your Turkish e-Visa is approved, it will be electronically delivered to your e-mail address in PDF form. Remember to print it out and take it with you while traveling. Turkish customs officials will examine your visa before letting you enter the country.

The Turkish e-Visa application usually takes a few days, but it can be prolonged. Your inquiry may face delays due to spelling mistakes detected in the form or missing documentation, so always double-check the data and the files you upload.

e-Visa Requirements for Turkey

The requirements for a Turkish electronic visa vary significantly depending on your nationality. The standard requirement for all countries is to have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date.

Travelers from the following countries are required to present additional documents:

Bhutan, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu:

• visa or a residence permit from one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the UK, or Ireland

Vietnam:

• visa or a residence permit from one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the UK, or Ireland
• round-trip ticket with Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air, or AtlasGlobal Airlines

Iraq:

• visa or a residence permit from one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the UK, or Ireland
• at least 50 USD or the equivalent in foreign currency for each day of stay in Turkey

Fiji:

• return ticket
• hotel reservation
• at least 50 USD or the equivalent in foreign currency for each day of stay in Turkey

Palestinian Territories:

• visa or a residence permit from one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the UK, or Ireland
• at least 50 USD or the equivalent in foreign currency for each day of stay in Turkey
• round-trip ticket with Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air, or AtlasGlobal Airlines

China and Taiwan:

• return ticket
• hotel reservation
• at least 50 USD or the equivalent in foreign currency for each day of stay in Turkey

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Philippines, and Sri Lanka:

• return ticket

• at least 50 USD or the equivalent in foreign currency for each day of stay in Turkey
• visa or a residence permit from one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the UK, or Ireland

Egypt:

• hotel reservation
• at least 50 USD or the equivalent in foreign currency for each day of stay in Turkey
• round-trip ticket with Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air, or AtlasGlobal Airlines
• visa or a residence permit from one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the UK, or Ireland (applicants below the age of 20 or above the age of 45 are not obliged to fulfill this requirement)

Note that electronic visas are not accepted as supporting documents when a valid visa from one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the UK, or Ireland, is needed. The applicant must have a regular visa.

Turkish e-Visa Validity

The Turkish single-entry e-Visa allows you to stay in Turkey for up to 30 days, and the multiple-entry visa grants 90 days to spend visiting the country. They both remain in force for 180 days.

Transit Information

The online visa is issued only for purposes including tourism and business. The local authorities do not plan on introducing a visa for transit.

As long as you remain at the transit zone of the Turkish airport while waiting for the connecting flight, there is no need to apply for a transit visa. If you plan to leave the airport, it is essential to obtain a suitable visa.
