Australia Visa for UK Citizens

UK citizens willing to travel to Australia need to obtain an Australian e-Visa. It is available in two types – an eVisitor and an ETA to Australia.

An Australian eVisitor is only available for holders of passports issued by the United Kingdom, while an Australian ETA is needed for British nationals overseas. You can use an Australia ETA or eVisitor for tourism and business purposes.

Australian e-Visa enables British travelers to enter the country numerous times and stay for up to 90 days each. The validity period is 365 days.

You can apply for an Australian electronic travel authorization in a few steps: put the data into the form, attach documents, and pay fees. The approval will be delivered to the email address. The Australia visa application process has never been easier!

Australia visa types

Australia eVisitor visa

An Australian eVisitor (subclass 651) permits citizens of the United Kingdom to visit Australia for tourist and business purposes. You can apply for it entirely online from outside Australia.

It allows visiting Australia an unlimited number of times during a one-year validity. Each stay can be for up to 90 days.

This type can be applied only by citizens with passports issued by the United Kingdom. If your passport states British National Overseas, British Dependent Territories Citizen, British Overseas Citizen, British Protected Person, or British Subject, you cannot obtain an Australia eVisitor.

Australia ETA

An Australian ETA (subclass 601) is an electronic travel authority. It has similar functions to an Australia eVisitor and also has an online application process.

The ETA Australia is available to travelers with some nationalities that do not allow for an eVisitor application.

UK citizens can apply for an ETA to Australia if their passport states British National Overseas.

Regular visa

UK travelers who need to stay in Australia for a long time or travel for purposes other than tourism and business should apply for a regular visa instead of an Australia ETA or eVisitor. In order to do that, it is necessary to attend the nearest Australian embassy or consulate in person.

Australian visa application process

The Australian Government has introduced an Australia ETA system that makes visa applications simple. UK citizens can apply with a few clicks:

  1. Provide the requested data in the online application form.
  2. Ensure the information is complete and error-free.
  3. Attach the necessary documents – your effective passport and face photograph.
  4. Cover the fees. You can make the payment via any available payment method on our website. For example, you can use a debit/credit card, PayU, or PayPal.
  5. Afterward, our team and Australian authorities will process your application. You will receive a confirmation via email with a PDF document if your approval has been confirmed.

Take your valid Australian visa and passport to the border control point.

The processing time and fees for UK passport holders

Processing

Upon submitting your Australian ETA online application, you have to wait for it to be processed. Your information and documents must be checked and verified. Usually, it doesn’t take more than several days, however, it all depends on the case and the situation.

Sometimes, there are really busy days when the number of applications requiring processing is significant, so it may take us more time to process all those applications. Mistakes and missing documents can also cause delays.

Australian e-Visa price

When applying with our services, the processing fee for all nationalities, including UK citizens, is the same – 49 Euro. You can use any of the methods available on the website – PayPal, PayU, debit, or credit card. All of these methods are safe, so you can be sure that your money is properly secured.

How long can a British citizen stay in Australia?

UK citizens can enter Australia numerous times during the visa validity period. The Australian eVisitor stays valid for one year (365 days) from the date of issue.

Each stay in Australia cannot exceed 90 days. In order to return to the country for another 90 days, you need to leave the territory of Australia for at least 3 days. After that, you can travel to Australia again, provided that your visa is still effective.

Important! In case of passport’s expiration or passport data changes, your Australian e-Visa becomes invalid. To stay in the country legally, you need to apply for a new Australian visa.

Australian e-Visa requirements for UK citizens

In order to apply for an Australian e-Visa, UK nationals need to satisfy several conditions:

  • you must have a working device (a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or PC)
  • your device must be connected to the internet (hardwired, mobile, or Wi-Fi)
  • your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from entering Australia
  • you must have a clear face photograph to attach to your application form
