Ukraine eVisa – basic information

An online visa to Ukraine is a single-entry visa allowing its holders to have a 30-day stay for tourism, business, and transit purposes.

Ukraine eVisa was implemented in 2018, and since then, eligible foreigners are not required to visit the embassy in person – they can easily apply online.

To apply, fill out the application form, gather and attach the required documentation, and pay the fee via any online payment method available on the website.

The approved Ukraine eVisa will be sent directly to your email account. It stays effective for 30 days.

All you need is to make a printout, take your valid passport, and you can start your Ukrainian journey.

Note that due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the eVisa service in Ukraine is currently suspended.

Who needs an eVisa to Ukraine

Even though Ukraine offers visa-free access to a long list of countries for some period of time, there are still many countries whose citizens are required to get a Ukraine visa in order to travel to Ukraine.

The visa-on-arrival facility was terminated on 1 January 2019, so since then, the only way to get a visa to Ukraine without making an in-person appointment at the embassy is a Ukraine online visa.

Ukraine eVisa types

There are two types of Ukraine online visas available. Depending on your travel purpose, you can choose between:

• Ukraine tourist visa – you can use this type for such purposes as exploring the country, sightseeing, recreation, visiting your family and friends, and other tourism-related matters;
• Ukraine business visa – it fits all business-related purposes: business meetings, attending conferences and seminars, negotiating contracts, etc.

eVisa Ukraine validity

The Ukraine online visa stays valid for one month (30 days). During this period, its holders can enter Ukraine one time. The period of allowed stay is the same as its validity period – 30 days.

Make sure your passport remains valid for at least 6 months from the planned arrival date. If it doesn’t, you need to renew it or get a new passport.

Ukraine eVisa requirements

In order to submit Ukraine online visa application form, you must meet the following visa requirements:

• a passport that doesn’t expire within the next 6 months;
• your face photo – can be taken with a PC or phone camera but must be in official style;
• a document proving the purpose of your trip;
• health insurance coverage – for no less than 30 000 EUR;
• sufficient financial means proof.

Transit information

Ukraine online visa also allows its holders to have a transit in Ukraine – to pass through Ukraine to their next travel destination.

Apply for a Ukraine visa online at least 10 days in advance of your transit to ensure there will be enough time for the visa to be processed and your trip will go smoothly.
