Romania eVisa – General information

The Romania eVisa is a multiple-entry visa that citizens from more than 100 different countries can obtain online for short-term visits related to leisure, transit, or business.

Eligible applicants need to complete a very short and intuitive application process entitling them to stay in Romania for up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes or up to 5 days if only transiting through the country. The Romanian electronic visa remains valid for 180 days from the date of issue.

Romania eVisa types

Romania eVisa is granted as a multiple-entry visa remaining effective for 6 months (180 days) from the date of issue. Its holder can use the visa and stay in the country for up to 90 days in total.

There are three types of Romanian visas available online:

• A tourist eVisa: a visa dedicated to travelers who plan to travel to Romania for tourism-related purposes, such as vacation, family or friend reunions, or sightseeing.
• A business eVisa: a visa dedicated to anyone who wishes to handle some business affairs in Romania, such as attending a business meeting, conference, or negotiating a contract.
• A transit eVisa: this visa type allows its holder to transit through Romania before reaching the final destination; a transit online visa can be issued for one, two, or numerous transit stops in Romania, of which every transit stop can last maximally 5 days.

Important! Make sure your passport will not expire for at least 6 months from the date of your planned entry to Romania.

eVisa Romania validity

The Romania eVisa is issued as a multiple-entry visa that covers numerous visits to Romania. The total time spent in the country cannot exceed 90 days.

The validity of the visa is 6 months (180 days) and starts on the date of issue. The applicant’s passport must remain valid for at least 6 months from the date of intended arrival date in the country.

Apply for a Romanian visa at least 15 business days prior to your trip to receive your visa approval on time.

Romania eVisa requirements
