Methods of getting a visa to Indonesia

Most foreigners, except those enjoying the freedom of movement, need a suitable visa to travel to Indonesia. They can choose one of the three available methods of visa application.

Electronic visa (e-VoA)

The Indonesian e-Visa is an online Tourist Visa. Nationals of 90 countries can apply online for a visa on arrival. To obtain the Indonesian e-VOA, complete the application form, submit the required documents, and cover the visa fee. The approved visa will be sent to your e-mail.

The Indonesia online visa is valid for 90 days, allowing you to spend 30 days in the country. It is issued for purposes of tourism and business. You can enter the country once.

Visa on arrival (VOA)

Entry requirements for children

Children must obey the same rules regarding entry to Indonesia as adults. In order to cross the Indonesian borders, each traveler is required to have a valid passport and an approved Indonesian visa. The only exception is nationals of visa-exempt countries.

Transit information

Foreign visitors are required to have a valid Transit Visa for Indonesia if they plan to transit through Ngurah Rai Airport. A separate visa is also required in case of switching terminals at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

It is not essential to have a Transit Visa while passing through the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in less than 24 hours from arrival. You can also transit visa-free through other Indonesian airports, but it cannot exceed 8 hours.
