Iran e-Visa – Basic information

Since 2018 entering Iran has been possible with an Iran online visa. The Iran e-Visa system was introduced by the Iranian government, and thanks to it, you can obtain the necessary travel document and visit Iran easily. Basically, you just need a device (smartphone, laptop, PC, tablet, etc.) and an internet connection to apply.

Remember that you have to go to the embassy or consulate in order to collect your visa. But firstly, visit the application panel, fill out the visa form, cover the fee, and wait for the authorization code that will be sent to your email.

You can pick a single-entry or multiple-entry visa and stay in Iran for up to 30 days for tourism, business, or transit purposes.

Types of Iranian visa online

You can choose one of the following visa types to Iran:

• A single-entry permit – allows visiting the country once for up to 30 days within the validity period of 90 or 60 days, depending on the chosen type. It is designed for tourism, relaxation, or visiting friends/family.
• A multiple-entry permit – for numerous visits to the country, effective for 90 days. It can be used for business activities or participation in events.
• A transit visa – for a 7-day stay and a validity period of 30 days.
• A tourist visa – for travelers who would like to go sightseeing, visit friends and family or take part in leisure activities.

Iran online visa application form

Before applying, check all the Iran tourist visa requirements and prepare the necessary documents, such as a valid passport. Then, visit the application panel, select the Iran e-Visa application form, and choose your travel purpose. After that, you should follow these simple steps:

• Fill in the basic details (name, surname, date of birth, email, passport number, etc.). Check the form twice to avoid mistakes.
• Cover the fee by choosing one of the possible methods of payment. Wait for the confirmation.
• Check your inbox for the registration code sent by the Iran Embassy. Then, you can visit the embassy and collect your document.

Iran visa validity period

The visa to Iran validity period depends on the type:

• A single-entry visa can be valid for 90 or 60 days.
• A transit visa is valid for 30 days.
• A multiple-entry visa stays effective for 90 days.

Note the validity period begins on the online issue date. Also, remember about a valid passport.

Transit information

If you want to enter Iran just to go to the next destination, you need to obtain a transit visa that is valid for 30 days and grants a 7-day stay in the country. Your passport must be valid to obtain this visa.

Requirements for Iran visa

All travelers who want to go to Iran need to obtain the embassy registration code. To meet the requirements for a visa, you must have the following:

• A passport valid for at least 6 months
• A photo of the face
• A copy of the passport
• A flight ticket
• An active email.
