A single-entry e-Tourist visa

India e-tourist visa of a single-entry type allows visiting India for sightseeing, exploring the country, and meeting family and friends.

It stays valid for 30 days from the day of issuance. The permitted stay is the same – 30 days.

e-Business visa

The business visa to India is designed for attending conferences, business meetings, and other business activities.

e-Medical visa

The e-medical visa to India serves treatment purposes, including treatment under the Indian system of medicine, and stays effective for 4 months from the issuance date.

This type enables eligible foreigners to be in India for 60 days. You may use them for one visit or divide them into 3 times.

One-year eVisa

The one-year eVisa to India is issued for numerous entries into India and allows international travelers visiting India for leisure matters.

As its name implies, this visa has a one-year validity period.

Five-year eVisa

The five-year visa to India is a multiple-entry type that lets its holders have an unlimited number of 90-day visits. It remains effective for 5 years.

The USA and Japanese citizens can stay in India under this visa type even for a more extended period – 180 days for each entry.

The Indian eVisa validity differs across visa types. The e-tourist visa can be issued for 30 days (one month), one year, or five years (depending on nationality).

The e-business visa stays effective for one year, while the e-medical visa is valid for 4 months from the issuance date.

Ensure that your passport has at least a six-month validity from the date of arrival in India.

Transit information

You may wonder if you need to apply for an India eVisa just for transit through India. Note that you are not required to get one, if:

  • you have an onward ticket to your next destination;
  • you won’t stay in India for more than 24 hours;
  • you won’t leave the airport transit zone.
