Cambodia e-Visa – basic information

Cambodia e-Visa is an official electronic visa allowing citizens from eligible countries to travel to Cambodia for tourism and transit purposes.

It was introduced in 2006 by the Cambodian government to facilitate the application process for foreign travelers. Now a Cambodia visa can be obtained by completing the form, uploading the required documentation, and covering the visa costs.

Applicants get their approved Cambodian visas as PDF files within several business days of applying. It is important that the passport doesn’t expire, as it’s connected with an e-Visa and can make it invalid.

Cambodia electronic visa lets its holders visit the country once during a 3-months validity period and stay for up to 30 days.

Note that only certain border crossing points and airports support electronic visas.

Who needs a Cambodia e-Visa

Except for citizens from visa-exempt countries, all travelers need some kind of travel visa to enter Cambodia.

Cambodia e-Visa types

As of now, Cambodia e-Visa is available in one type: a single-entry e-Visa issued for 90 days.

It serves tourism and transit purposes:

• its holders can go to Cambodia for vacation, honeymooning, resting, fine-dining;
• it allows visiting natural or man-made sites;
• it’s a great opportunity to see friends and relatives residing in Cambodia;
• Cambodia can be a transit point to the traveler’s final destination.

Cambodia e-Visa application form

The Cambodia visa application process is designed in a way that requires applicants very little skill or effort.

No need to go to an embassy, just grab your device and complete three simple steps:

• To register, fill out the Cambodia visa application form (supply your personal and travel data) and attach the required documents (a valid passport and a digital face photograph, which can be taken by your phone or PC camera).
• Cover the electronic visa costs. You have to pay 99 Euro using any payment method on the website.
• Wait for an approved e-Visa to Cambodia. It will be sent to your e-mail address. Cambodia e-Visas are issued as PDF documents, you may download or print them out, however, it’s not mandatory.

Cambodia e-Visa validity

Cambodia e-Visa stays effective for 90 days (3 months). The validity period is counted from the issuance date.

During the Cambodia visa validity period, a traveler can visit Cambodia once and stay for up to 30 days (one month).

Note that a Cambodian electronic visa is directly linked to an applicant’s passport. If its holder loses it, or the passport expires, or any data gets changed, it has its influence on an e-Visa – it becomes invalid.

Transit information

Besides tourism matters, the Cambodia online visa can also be used for transit purposes. It’s when you pass through another country until you reach your destination.

Yes, an electronic visa to Cambodia is obligatory, even if you only need to enter Cambodia in order to get to another country.
